Named after famed French actress Edith Piaff, the home of this champagne is located outside Igny-Comblizy in the Marne department of the Champagne region near Epernay. Brut is a blend of 35% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 30% Pinot Meunier. Bottled at 12%.
Introduced in 2015, Champagne Piaff is the brainchild of Laurie Kempster, a South African forensic accountant and winemaker who partnered with fifth-generation Champagne-producing family, the Mansards.
Nose: Initial brioche on the nose leading to pear and apple notes, highlighted by a magnificent, persistent mousse.
Palate: Elegant yet lively, opens with fruit notes of pear which evolves into with a complex vanilla and brioche note.
Finish: Lingering beautiful toasty notes with a hint of oak.
