An incredibly special single cask release from the Caperdonich Speyside distillery, which closed in 2002, bottled by independent bottler Duncan Taylor in their Rarest of the Rare series - a limited edition collection of some of the rarest whiskies available today. Distilled on 10 October 1969 and matured for 50 years before being bottled on 30 April 2020. Only 88 handcrafted glass decanters were produced, each individually numbered, engraved and housed in a lockable framed box, inside a brushed stainless steel carry case. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a cask strength of 47.9%.

Nose: Beautifully malty and sweet.

Palate: On the palate you’ll find a frothy caramel latte topped with cinnamon.

Finish: A long-lasting finish of soft gentle warm spices and sweet toasted oak notes round it off.

Built in 1898 Caperdonich was originally known as "Glen Grant No.2", with the spirit being used by the same owners to support its more well-known namesake just down the road. Closed after only a few years in 1902, the distillery remained silent for the next six decades before being brought back to life by new owners. With the installation of modern equipment and renamed Caperdonich, the distillery produced whisky until 2002 when it closed for the final time and the equipment sold off across Scotland.
