Good for a Inaugural Release
"Inaugural releases tend to be unpleasant as the distillery and its team find their feet. This however is very inviting and intriguing. Beginning with the nose, an unmistakable waft of peat greets you. This opens up to some beautiful salty kelp like characters. And after a while some sweet tropical yellow fruit characters reveal themselves. In the end it had me thinking of salty sweet bacon. The palate, light on entry with subtle vanilla notes. Mid palate it becomes more spicy in particular reminded me of black pepper. It has a subtle waxy rich mouth feel. On the finish hints of that smoky and salty character come together quite nicely. It had me coming back for another sip, it seemed to have something, a pleasant familiar flavor that I couldn't quite place. All things considered a good dram and looking forward to great things from them."
