DESCRIPTION
A permanent expression from GlenAllachie in Speyside, first released in 2023 as part of Meikle Tòir — meaning "big pursuit" in Gaelic — the distillery's peated whisky range under master distiller Billy Walker. Made with mainland peat from St. Fergus, on the northeast coast of Scotland, to a phenol level of 35 ppm, and fermented for 160 hours for a fruit-forward spirit. Matured for 5 years in American oak ex-bourbon barrels before finishing in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry puncheons. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 48%.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Cedarwood, cigar box, butterscotch and mocha, with orange peel, honey and plum jam.
Palate: Dark chocolate, smoked honey and mocha, with figs, treacle, burnt sugar and puffs of peat smoke.
Finish: Long, with lingering smoky toffee and dark chocolate.
