Released in 2015, this 5th edition of Compass Box's Flaming Heart was released in celebration of the company's fifteenth anniversary. Inspired by a rock song, Flaming Heart was first released in 2006, and then only released every few years when CB had the appropriate combination of aged whiskies. This release is comprised of 14yo Caol Ila (38.5%), 30yo Caol Ila (27.1%), 20yo Clynelish (24.1%) and 10.3% 7yo blended malt from Clynelish, Teaninich and Dailuaine. 12,060 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 48.9%.
Nose: A unique interplay between spice, sweet and smoke characteristics. Sweet fruits and wood-smoke on the nose.
Palate: Fat and full-bodied on the palate with a spicy sweetness and a brooding complexity that is rich, sweet and addictively decadent.
Finish: A long-lasting finish.
