DESCRIPTION
Harvested in three separate passes from cool-climate vineyards near Africa’s southernmost tip, the 2024 Black Oystercatcher Sauvignon Blanc reflects both maritime freshness and layered complexity. Each parcel was hand-picked to capture a full spectrum of ripeness, cold-fermented with selected yeast strains, and left on the lees to build texture and longevity. Residual Sugar 2.9g/l. Bottled at 13% (Bottle size 750ml).
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Bright and expressive, with aromas of gooseberry, blackcurrant leaf, and ripe guava lifted by hints of lime zest and passionfruit. Subtle herbal notes and sea breeze minerality lend definition and poise.
Palate: Vibrant yet rounded, unfolding flavours of tropical fruit and citrus with a fine mineral core. The texture from extended lees contact brings weight and a soft, creamy mid-palate that complements the zesty freshness.
Finish: Clean and persistent, driven by crisp acidity and a saline edge that echoes the wine’s coastal origin. A lingering trace of flint and citrus peel leaves an invigorating close that invites another sip.
