Launched in 2022, the second limited release in the Speyside distillery's Quercus Alba Distinction series which highlights the distinctive qualities of maturation in first-fill American oak sherry casks (as opposed to European oak casks). Crafted with wood from the forests of North America which makes its way to Spain to fulfil its purpose of becoming sherry seasoned casks. At the end of this 6-year process, these specially crafted casks are shipped to Tamdhu distillery where only the finest casks are hand-selected to begin maturation. Bottled at 48%.
Nose: The welcoming warmth of malt, vanilla and spiced oak, then orange and mint.
Palate: Soft oak, damsons, dark chocolate – and a rich, luxurious mouthfeel.
Finish: Almost endless sherried oak, giving way to figs and golden syrup.
