DESCRIPTION

Ballechin is the name of the heavily-peated whisky produced at the Edradour distillery since 2003, peated to at least 50ppm with Highland peat. This is the core release in the Ballechin range, matured predominantly in ex-bourbon casks with a small portion of ex-Oloroso sherry casks known to be used as well. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46%. 

OFFICIAL TASTING NOTES

Nose: Herbal and grassy with sweetened smoke

Palate: Chocolate oak over spicy, earthy smokiness. Complexity rolls over the tongue.

Finish: Smouldering burnt heather on Highland hills
