This XO Cognac from Frapin is produced from ugni blanc grapes that are grown, distilled, aged and bottled at Château Fontpinot, a 240 hectare single family estate established in 1270 and located in the region’s Grande Champagne cru. Distilled over lees and aged in Limousin oak barrels between 15 and 20 years before blending. Bottled at 41%.
Nose: A subtle, complex, refined, long-lasting bouquet consisting of candied fruit aromas (dried apricot, dried fig), marzipan, hazelnut, nougat, then port notes and finally the famous “rancio” character.
Palate: Balanced, rich and complex on the palate with aromas of dried fruits and candied fruits.
Finish: An exceptionally long finish.
