Released in 2010, the Maker's 46 is named for the number of different wood 'recipes' tried before getting it right. The distillery takes the fully matured standard Maker's Mark at cask strength, and then finishes it in barrels containing 10 toasted new French oak staves for nine weeks. Bottled at 47%. Nose: Hints of toasty French oak, caramel and baking spices.

Palate: Mildly sweet and uniquely layered with deep rich notes of vanilla and baking spice.

Finish: Velvety subtle and pleasingly long.
