Launched in 2023, Avante Brandy is an initiative led by World Cup winning captain John Smit, with a 15-strong squad selected from international superstars past, present and future. Avante Founders' Fifteen Cape Brandy was distilled in 2009, matured for 15 years in small oak barrels and bottled in 2024. Presented in a bespoke, handmade wooden display cabinet crafted from sustainably sourced Knysna Blackwood, printed with signatures of the 15 founders and accompanied by a letter from John Smit. Nose: A rich sensory experience, XV opens on the nose with a magical bouquet of fruits; peaches, dried apricot and a subtle hint of pear.
Palate: The fruit follows through on the palate, and is balanced by honey, caramel and traces of citrus.
Finish: The finish is warm, long lasting and full bodied, with walnut and almond, and a touch of vanilla rounding out a sensory experience par excellence.
