DESCRIPTION

Templeton distillery’s range of American rye whiskey has been updated with a new bottle and label. Introduced as a brand in 2006, Templeton Rye 6yo was released in 2016 to mark their 10th anniversary. Distilled in Indiana by MGP (Midwest Grain Products of Indiana), the rye is made from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley and matured in charred new American oak barrels. Bottled at 45.75%. (Bottle size 750ml)

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Floral, dry spice, butterscotch, vanilla, cherry, and green apple.

Palate: Fruit and toasted oak. Mellow and smooth with a vibrant mouth.

Finish: Long and lingering spice.

MGP, formerly Lawrenceburg Distillers of Indiana, is a distillery that produces spirits for dozens of whisky brands and private labels. Templeton opened their new distillery in Iowa in 2018, allowing them to bring their production in-house and distill their own whiskey.

Fantastic whiskey and Not to be missed.

"I am a fan of both Irish and American whiskey. This was my first time tasting Templeton and I had heard good things. It did not disapoint . This was beautifully balanced with pepper and spice tasing notes complimenting the fruit aromas . The finish was also excellent. Add a small bit of water to open up the flavours even more. All in all a cracking dram for me."
