The Double Oaked is first matured in charred, virgin American white oak (as per required by law to be a bourbon) but then before being bottled it is filled (re-racked) into another round of virgin barrels that were first heavily-toasted and then lightly charred! This additional maturation amplifies the typical notes of spice, sweetness and oak to another level. Bottled at 43.2%
Nose: Rich notes of dark fruit, caramel, sharp honey, chocolate, marzipan and toasted oak.
Palate: A full-bodied mix of vanilla, dark caramel, hazelnut, apple, fruit and spices.
Finish: Long and creamy with lingering hints of honeyed apple.
