Tesseron Lot N° 90 XO Ovation is made using Ugni Blanc grapes from the Grande Champagne, Petit Champagne and Fins Bois regions and matured in oak barrels for ten years. As cognac can’t really use vintages, Tesseron have used their lot numbers to reflect the age of core components within their blends, therefore Lot N° 90 XO Ovation may well contain elements dating back to the 1990s. Bottled at 40%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Very fresh pear and quince notes on attack, give way to herbaceous elements, dried fruits and nuts, fresh, with intriguing hints of almond.
Palate: Firm, focused, powerful, reflecting the aromatics presented by the nose – typical, young, quality cognac.
Finish: A long finish.
The family-run Tesseron Cognac House was established in 1905 by Abel Tesseron. He began by collecting all the oldest and finest eaux-de-vie he could lay his hands on, before progressing onto distilling, ageing and blending his own Cognacs. However, for a long time, most of the company’s luxury very old Cognacs were sold to other houses and were used to form the heart of their blends. For this reason, Tesseron remained little known outside of the region for many years.
