An independent bottling of Talisker from Douglas Laing in their Provenance (PRO) range exclusively for French whisky company Lu Maison du Whisky. Nose: The powerful, extremely peppery initial nose stages a vegetal peat (lichen). Allowed to breathe, it moves into a cocoa, fruity (raspberry, strawberry) and marine register.
Palate: Peat reveals aniseed and spicy tones along with malt, chocolate, spice and a surprising amount of fruit.
Finish: The same peat and smoke take the forefront of the aromatic.
