Launched in 2020, Redbreast 27 Year Old is the oldest permanent expression in the Redbreast range. Produced in limited batches - this is batch no. 6 - this single pot still Irish whiskey is triple distilled at Midleton Distillery and matured for 27 years in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels, Oloroso sherry casks, and ruby port casks from Portugal's Douro Valley. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a cask strength of 55.9%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Remarkable aroma spanning fresh tropical fruits, nuts and rich dried fruit.
Palate: Soft vanilla, toasted oak, sherry nuttiness with a dusting of spices. Luscious fleshy fruit notes complete the silky mouthfeel.
Finish: Lingers, seemingly forever, with oak and an assortment of spices and then, the final bow from barley – where it all began.
