Grapes for the Rall Ava Syrah 2022 are harvested from a Schist vineyard around the Kasteelberg region in the Swartland. The Ava is a tiny selection of Syrah on the most extreme and low yielding sites. Fermented with 100% whole bunches and matured in large format oak to truly express the place and soil on which it’s grown. Now its 6th release, this 2022 is considered by Donovan Rall the most expressive and aromatic red he's produced. 3,900 bottles were produced. Bottled at 12.5%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Intense nose of fynbos, herbs, tea and fine spice from the whole bunches.

Palate: The palate is dense with firm tannins and real fruit intensity.

Finish: The typical savoury finish of Syrah grown on these extremely low yielding soils.
