This highly sought-after Irish whiskey series was initially produced by Jameson's Master Distiller, Barry Crockett, and has been released in very limited quantities on an annual basis since 1984. This third release contains whisky of vintages exclusively matured at the closed Old Midleton distillery. Matured for between 12 and 20 years in ex-bourbon casks and bottled in 1986. Each bottle is individually numbered and carries the signature of the Master Distiller. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: An increased pot still component is evident with strong, oily, pot still influence to the fore. Resinous and supple, with crème brûlée notes from the bourbon casks. Ripe banana and blackcurrant, plus some toasted sourdough with whipped butter and grape jelly. In time it’s all toffee and honey.
Palate: Green apples and pears with the spiciness of single pot still driving through, leading to waves and waves of vanilla and honey.
Finish: Long oily finish with a sweet honey finish.
