The first bottle of Maker's Mark was bottled in 1958 and featured the brand's distinctive dipped red wax seal. 5 Decades later and the wax seal is still present and now protected by trademark. Maker's Mark is unusual in that the mash bill contains no rye, instead red winter wheat is used, along with corn and malted barley. Bottled at 45%.
Nose: Woody oak, caramel, vanilla and wheat prevail in the nose.
Palate: Sweet and balanced with caramel, vanilla and fruity essences.
