Macallan 1851 Inspiration has an interesting story behind it. The company bought several antique bottles of Macallan said to be from various years in the mid-1800s, and then released a line of replicas based on those vintage bottles. In a twist though, laboratory tests revealed that 70% of the ‘antiques’ were fake! The production of replicas was stopped but Macallan started to produce the Inspiration releases instead and those are rare.

Nose: Citrus balanced with sweet vanilla and wood spices.

Palate: Fruity with wood and a light oaky character.

Finish: Light oak, wood spices and malt.
