A Mexican-inspired organic agave spirit from South Africa, Leonista means “place of the lion” and is made from 12 year old agave Americana that grows in the Karoo. The production process follows an age-old recipe used in Mexico to make agave spirits like Mezcal. Honey Reposado, the sweetest in the range, is infused with raw honey sourced from around the Western Cape. Bottled at 43%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Sweet and herbal. Green olives, chilli spice, ground black pepper, honey-drizzled with tendrils of smoke swirling around its beating mezcal heart.

Palate: Honeycomb sweet, Madagascan green peppercorns coated in a dusting of vanilla, liqueur-like and dangerously quaffable.

Finish: Caramel and peppery spice linger on the finish.
