Originally released as a travel retail exclusive in 2014, Laphroaig Brodir (meaning 'brother' in ancient Norse) celebrates Scotland's connection with the Nordic region and culture. Although the first few releases had batch numbers, this is the general release with no batch number indicated. Matured in ex-bourbon barrels followed by a second maturation in European oak casks that held ruby port. Bottled at 48%.
Nose: Stewed rhubarb and peat, moving onto sweet vanilla and chocolate creaminess.
Palate: A minty freshness with floral notes and orange marmalade. Honey sweetness turns to creamy and a heavy saltiness.
Finish: Develops into a heavy charcoal and citrus notes that linger.
