The Série R focuses on one year’s harvest. A blend of 56% Pinot Noir and 44% Chardonnay, from 50 crus coming from 4 main regions - Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, Côte des Bar. R.018 represents Récolte or Harvest 2018, with 70% of the wine selected from the 2018 and 30% made from reserve wines. 2017 for intensity, 2016 for freshness and 2014 for fruitiness. Reserve wines are kept in stainless steel tanks, with only 2-5% going into small old 228-litre barrels to help depth and intensity to the reserve wines. Alcoholic fermentation occurs 100% in stainless steel tanks. Only 80% of the blend undergoes malolactic fermentation to accentuate the sensation of freshness. Secondary fermentation for the moose occurs in the bottle, where it rests for 36months before disgorgement. Dosage of 8g/L to help achieve that balance between acidity, freshness and expression of fruit. Bottled at 12%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Fresh and intensely citrus on the nose. Ripe summer fruit characters, acacia flowers and a touch of honey.

Palate: Generous, ample and intense fleshy white fruits on the palate such as pear.

Finish: Long and clean with a slightly, creamy texture.

Based in Ay, a Grand Cru village close to Epernay, Champagne Lallier is founded on the ‘art of eating and drinking well’, which they apply through a vintage-based approach for all their cuvees: 80% minimum of the base vintage for a clear identity and allowing for great versatility on food pairing. One of the rare houses headed by the winemaker, the cuvées are crafted exclusively with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in Grand Cru vineyards, leading to a style of finesse and precision for ultimate drinking enjoyment.
