The 100% Islay range is the only single malt produced on-site at the Kilchoman distillery from barley to bottle. The 12th Edition was distilled from 2011, 2012 and 2013 barley harvests before being matured for a minimum of 8 years in 29 bourbon barrels and 6 Oloroso sherry butts. 12,500 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 50%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Elegant, sweet peat smoke, followed by waves of citrus and honey, finishing with notes of vanilla and salted caramel.
Palate: A Bourbon-driven 100% Islay brings an initial malt-driven profile followed by green fruits; apple and pear. Light spice, raisin and toffee are present towards the finish.
Finish: Peat smoke returns and remains on the palate. The oily texture of this 100% Islay allows for a creamy profile balanced with toffee and caramelised sugar.
