The 6th and 2015 release from Glenmorangie's annual and limited Private Edition series (and the first one in the series to be released in SA). Showing off the distillery's experiments with different varieties of barley, Tùsail was produced using Maris Otter barley which was floor-malted by hand using traditional techniques. Maris Otter is a rich winter variety of barley first introduced in 1965, which was bred specifically to meet the demand for a high-quality brewing malt and recognised for its ability to impart rich, rustic malty flavours. Non-chillfiltered and bottled at 46%.
Nose: Deep earthy, robust aromas of malty, biscuity tones, with a backbone of nut toffee.
Palate: A rich, rustic profile of nut toffee, sweet barley malt, ginger, cinnamon, and dates in molasses complements more familiar notes of peaches, oranges and pears.
Finish: Lingers on with a mouth-coating finish.
