Dainty Bess Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut is a Cap Classique made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. 50% of the Pinot Noir was sourced from the lime rich soils of Robertson, with the rest from cool climate vineyards in Stanford. Aged on lees for 46 months. Residual sugar: 3.9g/l. Bottled at 12%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Earthy spiciness, rose petal, some fresh nectarine and a hit of intense raspberry.
Palate: The palate has delicate fruit weight, a creamy texture and a fine, vibrant mousse.
Finish: A refreshing, vibrant extra-dry finish.
Dainty Bess is run by Jane Ferreira-Eedes and concentrates on a single wine: Vintage Rosé CC made from 100% Pinot Noir. The project originally started in 2009 when Jane’s parents made a bubbly from a small vineyard planted at Klein Optenhorst in Wellington. Jane has since changed the name to Dainty Bess, one of her mother’s favourite rose types.
