Part of Diageo's Special Releases for 2020, a single malt from the Cardhu distillery in Speyside. Distilled in 2008, matured for 11 years in a combination of new oak as well as refill and ex-bourbon American oak casks, before being bottled in 2020. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 56%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: New wood pencil cases with fruity notes of green apple, grape and pineapple, which come together with lemon peel as a sweet fresh fruit salad.
Palate: Creamy and sweet, then juicy with fondant. Buttery, hot and spicy, recalling toasted hot-cross buns. Drying lightly overall.
Finish: Quite long, with some white pepper for a lingering warmth.
