Rose of Sharon Brut Rosé 2011 MCC is a traditional-method bottle-fermented sparkling wine made from Pinot Noir (58%.) and Chardonnay (42%). Grapes are sourced from the cool viticultural regions of Hemel-en-Aarde and Botriver. The base wines are then cool-fermented in steel vats to preserve their delicate fruit flavours. At blending time, the base wines for the rosé are selected for their perfumed fruit profiles. Following the secondary fermentation in bottle, the wine lies in the bottle on its lees for 6 years in the cool of the cellar before disgorgement. Bottled at 11.5%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: A berry-basket bouquet! Strawberry, black cherry and raspberry notes jump out of the glass with a hint of mint and rose water in the background.
Palate: Lovely red berry fruit on entry, strawberries and raspberries. Elegant and fine mousse.
Finish: A clean, dry finish.
