Woodford Reserve is made from a mixture of pot still spirit distilled at the company's Woodford Reserve Distillery in Woodford County, Kentucky, and column still spirits from the Brown Forman Distillery in Shively, Kentucky. The mashbill is approximatley 72% corrn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley and matured for at least 6 years in American oak. Bottled at 45.2%.
Nose: Rich dried fruit, hints of mint and oranges covered with a dusting of cocoa. Faint vanilla and tobacco spice.
Taste: Rich, chewy and rounded, with citrus, cinnamon and cocoa. Toffee, caramel, chocolate and spice notes abound.
Finish: Silky smooth, almost creamy at first with a long, warm satisfying tail.
