Released as part of Teeling's Vintage Reserve Collection and named 2019s world's best single malt at the World Whiskies Awards (and the first Irish whiskey to do so). Distilled in 1991, this 24yo was initially matured for 21 years in ex-bourbon barrels before being finished for three years in ex-Sauternes wine casks. This particular release was bottled in late 2017 and only 5,000 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered and bottled at 46%.
Nose: Aromas of white grapes, cut grass, apricots and white chocolate.
Taste: Silky smooth, with flavours of fig jam, honey, apricots, white chocolate and crisp saltiness at the end to balance the sweetness off.
Finish: Long and mellow.
