Introduced in 2004 and a rarity to fin in South Africa as it is no longer imported into the market. Bottled at 45.8%.
Nose: Rich and fruity plums, greengages, dried orange peel with some butterscotch, rum toffee and a thread of smoke.
Palate: Sweet in front, then more assertive, with a whiff of smoke. The overall effect is warming. The development is towards smoke, coal-tar and toffee.
Finish: Medium length with the characteristic chilli 'catch' in the finish. Classy development, soft and balanced. Vanilla and wood. Still some pepper.
