Produced from a blend of 65% Cabernet Franc, 26% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes are hand-picked and, once in the cellar, are gently transferred by means of gravity to both stainless steel and cement vessels. A period of cold soaking follows and extended maceration is undertaken at the conclusion of fermentation. Matured for 13 months in 225-litre French oak barrels (of which 30% is new). Thereafter the wine is blended and transferred to foudre and cement vessels for a further 12 months. Bottled at 13.5%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Flinty mineral aromas of pencil shavings and chalk. Earthy black tea notes with whiffs of dried herbs.

Palate: Subtle red fruit character on entry. Mid-palate reveals more savoury herbaceous notes.

Finish: Restrained with a grippy tannin structure. Lingering notes of pencil shavings and bay leaves.
