Grapes were harvested on 26 February from vines planted in 2005 with an average yield of 10.5 tons per hectare. Grapes were de-stalked and hand-sorted before being pumped into stainless steel tanks, pumped-over once a day for 5 days, left for 2 days before pressing and racked to barrel for malolactic fermentation. Matured for 18 months in 100% new 225-litre French oak barrels. Bottled at 14%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose:  Ripe dark red fruits, blackberry and plums are very prominent. Floral with subtle nuances of pepper and oak spice.

Palate: Fruit driven entry with beautiful rich notes of plums and dates. Mid-palate reveals notes of dark chocolate and sweet spice.

Finish: Powerful wine that has powdery tannins and a lovely long lingering finish with notes of cigar box and prunes.
