The fruit comes from dryland bush vines planted in 1984 on sandy, decomposed granite soils, which naturally keep yields low. The grapes were hand-harvested in the early morning, gently pressed and fermented in older French oak barrels, then matured for 11 months on fine lees. It is made in a restrained, fruit-focused style. Only 1,550 bottles were produced. Rated 94\/100 by Winemag. Bottled at 12.5%.
