The fruit comes from dryland bush vines planted in 1975, on an east-facing slope of clay and decomposed Malmesbury shale. The grapes were hand-harvested, gently pressed and fermented in older French oak barrels, then matured for 11 months on fine lees. It is a rich, textured style that balances ripe fruit with freshness and subtle oak. Rated 91\/100 by Winemag. Bottled at 13%.
