Rock Oyster is part of independent bottler Douglas Laing's Remarkable Malts series. This 18yo limited edition blended malt is comprised of malts produced on the various Scottish islands in small batches, including those distilled on Islay, Arran, Orkney and Jura. Nonchillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46.8%.
Nose: Immediately maritime on the nose - developing to salt, light tobacco and a sweetly peated malt.
Palate: Opening sweetly with more tobacco and now hard-candy and barley sugar flavours apparent.
Finish: Wonderfully spiced with more sweet cereal and now a phenolic quality ebbing and flowing.
