A collaboration between brothers, Mark and Bobby Wallace. This is their fourth vintage, produced from a small parcel of Chenin Blanc grapes sourced from within the cool-climate district of Elgin. Chenin Blanc is something of a rarity in Elgin. Wild ferment and barrel aged for 10 months in 2nd, 3rd and 4th-fill barriques. The wine underwent partial malolactic fermentation in barrel. No added enzymes, yeast and fining agents were used in the making of this wine. Only 2,300 bottles were produced. Bottled on 26 January 2022 at 13.5%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: The nose leads with appealing citrus notes.
Palate: Citrus notes unfold onto the palate with a rich, creamy mouthfeel.
Finish: A long lingering finish with refreshing minerality.
Paul and Nicky Wallace purchased their 25-hectare farm in September 2003 and immediately set out to create their own little piece of heaven. Paul is a viticultural consultant and here at last he could practise what he has advised and encouraged other farmers to do in their vineyards. It has long been Paul's belief that the cool-climate region of Elgin, previously best known for its apples and pears, is one of the most exciting developing wine regions within the South African wine industry and indeed internationally.
