The 2nd edition of the Octomore 10yo was made with malt peated to 167ppm, distilled in 2006 and matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon (60%) and Grenache Blanc (40%). Only 18,000 individually numbered bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally colored and bottled at cask strength of 57.3%.
Nose: Smoky iodine intertwined with rich and fruit toasted oak. Leather, polish, nutella, ginger syrup, walnuts and orange peel.
Palate: A viscous and oil rich backbone with salted caramel, marzipan vanilla and crusty malty bread balanced with smoke, fruit and oak.
Finish: Lingering dry peat smoke with pipe tobacco ash and smoky tea.
