A rye whiskey by independent bottler and blender That Boutique-y Whisky Company (TBWC). This 2yo from the New York Distilling Company is their 1st batch from the American producer, with only 570 bottles produced. The whisky was finished in an Apple Jack (an American alcoholic apple drink) cask. Bottled at 53%. (500ml)
Nose: Chalkboard dust, cherries, and sweet toffee apples. There’s herbal elements too, fresh oregano, basil and a hint of spearmint.
Palate: There's an initial fruity sweetness, which is promptly followed by the expected rye spices building quickly, then softening to red liquorice with hints of raspberry and cigar box cedar.
Finish: Mouthwateringly fruity, drying, leaving the cedar wood.
