The Macallan Exceptional Casks series was relaunched in 2017, taking its name from a number of single cask bottlings Macallan released during the 1990s. Distilled on 20 October 1997, matured in a single American oak refill sherry hogshead (#14813) and bottled on 15 October 2018. Only 187 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a cask strength of 54.1%.

Nose: Roasted coffee beans, forest fruits, vanilla, muscovado sugar, balanced oak.

Palate: Dates, dark chocolate, espresso coffee, wood spice.

Finish: Medium, sweet coffee and bitter dark chocolate.
