Tied to Louis Roederer's Champagne roots and the foundations of their Reims-based Champagne House, Collection is Louis Roederer's multi-vintage champagne and its most respected flagship wine. Based on a selection of plots located in the heart of the Champagne region that are suited to its identity and where the emphasis is on sustainable growing practices, Collection is created from the Perpetual Reserve and oak-aged reserve wines, complemented by the finest wines from the most recent harvest. Collection 242 represents the Champagne House's 242nd blend since its foundation and is crafted from 34% Perpetual Reserve, 10% oak-aged reserve wines from the 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 vintages, complemented by 56% of the finest wines from the 2017 harvest: mainly Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs and Meuniers from the Vallée de la Marne. Aged between 3 and 4 years in the Louis Roederer cellars. Bottled at 12%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Opens with notes of white fruit, citrus zest and acacia blossom.

Palate: A light touch of roasted hazelnuts, the hallmark of the Chardonnay.

Finish: The long, very pure structure ends on a pleasing saline note.

Champagne Louis Roederer was founded in 1776 in Reims France and is one of the rare family owned companies which is still managed by the Roederer family. In 1833 Louis Roederer inherited the company from his uncle and renamed the company under his namesake. Under his leadership the company rapidly grew while remaining true to their philosophy of uncompromising quality. Today the company is under the helm of Jean-Claude Rouzaud and his son Frédéric who continue to place quality before quantity.
