The Loch Lomond Scottish distillery is rare in that it produces both grain and malt whisky, and even rarer that this single grain whisky they produced is done so with 100% malted barley (and not the usual corn/wheat/rye as is the norm)! Matured exclusively in American oak. Bottled at 46%.
Nose: Fresh cut barley fields with a malty edge, biscuity with baked apples (and other sweet fruits) alongside gentle lemon peel.
Palate: Oily and crisp with pineapple juice and a lemon zestiness along with a lovely vanilla and coconut sweetness at the end.
Finish: Softer with gentle fruit notes, alongside a juicy sweetness, some nuttiness and soft spice.
