The 100% Islay range is the only single malt produced on-site at the Kilchoman distillery from barley to bottle. The 6th Edition (released in 2016) is a vatting of fresh and refill ex-Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels, filled in 2010 and bottled in 2016, making this the most mature 100% Islay release to date. Produced exclusively from barley grown at the distillery (including the peating of the barley), the 100% Islay range has a lighter peat level compared to the rest of the range. Bottled at 50%.
Nose: Chocolate and vanilla, with the light grain notes fragrance with peaty smoke and orange.
Palate: The body follows suit with more fresh citrus, vanilla and waves of gentle peat.
Finish: The lingering smoke on the finish is mild and fragrant, with notes of maple syrup, cinnamon, and green banana.
