Grapes for the Journey's End Destination Chardonnay 2018 were hand-picked from a 2.5ha single vineyard block in the early hours of the morning. Grapes were then sorted before being whole-bunch pressed. Only free run juice was used and was fermented naturally in a combination of 300-litre and 228-litre French oak barrels. The Destination was naturally fermented, and the wine underwent 10% malolactic fermentation. The wine was left on the fine lees and stirred frequently for a period of 10 months before being blended in a stainless steel tank, fined and bottled. The wine is fined with bentonite which means it is vegan friendly. Bottled at 14.5%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: The nose exhibits concentrated apricot and ripe peach with layers of lime zest and orange.
Palate: Oily on entry, with notes of vanilla, honeysuckle and stone fruits on entry.
Finish: A long-lasting creamy finish with hints of orange rind.
