Not as sinister as it sounds, the "devil's cut" is the term used to refer to the whiskey that is absorbed into the wooden barrels during maturation. The smart folks at Jim Beam have found a way to extract it and have added it to their 6yo bourbon for this release. Bottled at 45%.
Nose: Lots of wood with fresh cut staves, heaps of vanilla and wood spice.
Palate: Full bodied with intense oak and vanilla.
Finish: Oak persists, the finish is reasonably long with a pinch of spice scattered on top of the vanilla.
