Where earlier releases in the series used virgin oak, this one was matured in seasoned ex-Oloroso sherry barriques coopered from Hungarian \u003cem\u003eQuercus Petraea\u003c\/em\u003e from the Zemplén Mountains, an oak known for its slow growth and tight grain. Distilled in the first half of 2021 from 100% Scottish barley, lightly peated (~15ppm) and unpeated spirit were matured separately in the Hungarian oak before being married together, and bottled in March 2026. 8,000 bottles produced.
