This rare 17yo blend from Suntory contains malt whisky from Yamazaki and Hakushu and grain whisky from Chita. Matured in an assortment of casks including bourbon, sherry, Mizunara (Japanese oak) and umeshu (Japanese plum liqueur). The name Hibiki means harmony in Japanese and the bottle itself is a thing of beauty, with 24 faces, symbolising the seasons of the old Japanese Lunar calendar. Bottled at 43%.
Nose: Floral and complex with honey and beeswax along with apples, plums, apricots and pineapple.
Taste: Delicate yet full-bodied with vanilla, banana, honey and soft peppery notes.
Finish: Long and sweet with more honey, cinnamon and ginger.
