Released in 2014, the Hakushu Distiller’s Reserve uses a young lightly peated malt along with a heavily peated and 18yo American oak whisky in its make-up. Undoubtedly released to alleviate the pressure on increasingly rare aged-stocks. Bottled at 43%.
Nose: Fresh with peppermint, melon and cucumber.
Palate: Citrus notes of grapefruit and lemon with a mixed herbal night, including thyme, and a light waft of smoke.
Finish: Refreshing and crisp with the subtle smokiness.
