Something different from the typically sherry-rich distillery profile from GlenDronach, this expression is made using lightly peated barley. First matured in ex-bourbon casks being finished in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. Nonchillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46%.
Nose: Ripe gooseberries, cinnamon sugar and zesty citrus. The soft peat gives a charred wood character with ground barley and vanilla toffee.
Palate: Oak spices and floral heather honey develop to barley sugars, all warmed by a touch of white pepper. Peat reemerges and gives a depth and dryness of campfire embers.
Finish: A combination of crisp fruit and barley-laden Highland characteristics surrounded by gentle peat smoke; reminiscent of heather burning.
