An rather unusual and hard-to-find GlenDronach expression as it is a South African exclusive (although at one stage it seems there was some availability in Germany as well). Matured solely in ex-Oloroso sherry casks so expect all the rich and spicy notes typical of such maturation. Beautifully packaged, nonchillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 48%.
Nose: Spiced honey and sweet raisins and sultanas, with a soft coffee note and walnut cake and a hint of orange.
Palate: Lots of stewed fruits and sweet sticky dates, a dusting of mocha combined with freshly cut herbs and a mellow earthy nuttiness of classic aged oak.
Finish: Sweet honey and spice fades over time with a barley note lingering until the end.
